Ketazol Cream

Ketazol cream contains ketoconazole, an antifungal medication used to treat skin infections that can occur on the feet (Athlete’s Foot), in the groin region (tinea cruris), or within skin folds (such as Sweat Rash when infected with a yeast infection known as ‘thrush’).

Composition:

Ketoconazole USP 2% w/w

Indications:

Ketazol Cream is indicated for the topical treatment of ringworm of the body, tinea cruris, athlete’s foot, yeasts and fungus candida.

Dosage:

Cutaneous candidiasis, infections caused by Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea manus, Tinea pedis, Tinea pityriasis and tinea versicolor: Ketazol 2% cream to be applied once daily to cover the affected and immediate surrounding area. Seborrhoeic dermatitis: Ketazol 2% cream should be applied to the affected area once or twice daily depending on the severity of infection.
Treatment should be continued for at least until a few days after disappearance of all symptoms. The diagnosis should be reconsidered if no clinical improvement is noted after 4 weeks of treatment. Duration of treatment is: Tinea versicolor 2-3 weeks, yeast infection 2-3 weeks, Tinea cruris 2-4 weeks, Tinea corporis 3-4 weeks, Tinea pedis 4-6 weeks. The usual duration of treatment in Seborrhoeic dermatitis is 2 to 4 weeks.

Side Effects:

Pruritus, irritation, burning sensation and in rare circumstances contact dermatitis have been reported during treatment with Ketazol.
